So, here are 6 ways to build your brand awareness online that actually work. Yes, they take a little effort and know-how, but they work, and they work every time!
Building your business, website, and even your blogs brand awareness can seem’s like a whole bunch of new and complicated marketing practices for most people online. But, it’s not actually, and simply put, you can use 1 or 2 of the following best practices that work, not all of them.
So, let’s look at these best branding practices and strategies together, and remember, they are simple to practice if you are willing to learn 1 or more of them.
Branding through guest blogging.
Guest blogging still works, and I mean for growing your traffic and brand, not for SEO.
Guest blogging for many, many years, okay, several years at least, started out as a way to gain search engines and the traffic they could generate because of them. Not anymore, today, guest blogging is about community and branding.
To tell you the truth, I think guest blogging is not about traffic generation either, that is simply a side effect of the process and practice, much like making money online through the practice of good internet marketing strategies.
The biggest question is, however, where do you guest blog when it comes to your particular niche and business?
Well, that is a problem, especially when you find that many, many businesses owners out here in our particular industry do not wish to have their “competitors” blogging or, “stealing” their traffic or potential clients or subscribers.
If that is the problem, then I suggest you try some of these blogs or platforms:
- Huffington Post
- Psychology Today
- Get Rich Slowly (for finance people)
- Digital Doughnut
- New York Times (online)
The list is so long, well, that should give you an idea that I could go on and on, and I won’t. But find local blogs, popular national and international blogs that you feel has the audience you need to get in front of, and then, write it all out!
Guest blogging is simple to practice, and the best rule is as follows; “write it like you would for your own blog!”
Branding through webinars.
I am a huge proponent of webinars. I do them myself bi-weekly for two of my blogs and businesses online.
Not only is a webinar a great way to educate your audience, but it is also a great way to personalize your brand, and build the authority and trust you need to convert that traffic.
From Go To Meetings to Zoom (my chosen platform), there are many different webinar platforms to choose from. Of course, some will have more features than others, and some are just pure hyped up software that does the same thing as all the others.
Choose wisely, and do not go beyond your budget with this part of your marketing strategy. As a matter of fact, you can also use Facebook Live or, my other favorite, YouTube Livestream.
To tell you the truth, I suggest you get started with YouTube Livestream, it is free and works just fine. Plus, it will get you used to running a webinar as a new online business owner.
Webinars, like I said above, are a great way to truly connect with your audience in real-time. And even if they cannot be there at that time, well, you can replay and watch as the personal branding get’s them there the next time, or at least, on your list!
Like a webinar service, live casting can work basically the same, however, I think “livecasting” is a little less involved.
The definition from Google is:
“Livecasting is often the term used that describes the process of broadcasting real-time, live video footage or video feed to an audience accessing the video stream over the internet.”
What I mean by that is that you do not need to dive in and start recording them for playback on your website or blog, and you do not need to do countdown webinar funnels to get people there.
Livecasting is a simple way to connect with people via social media channels and via live stream video.
I am going to keep this section simple and end it here. But, just so you know, I think Livecasting is a powerful internet marketing strategy that can build up to a more serious webinar-based platform as you and your audience grow.
They do not have to be 50,000 words long, heck, 8-10,000 word ebooks are fine! And if you want, start with 4-5,000 word ebooks to get used to creating them. Either way, ebooks are a great way to grow your brand!
Oh, real quick, some of the best ebooks about blogging I’ve ever read, well, they were written in a day, each of them by Ryan Biddulph. So, if you think you can’t, just ask the guy traveling the globe full time who takes the time during a day or two a week to write them.
Brand awareness and ebooks have gone together for a long time online today, it has been part of an all-around solid marketing strategy for many an entrepreneur and business owner online. The other wonderful thing about ebooks, like video, they can be a perfect tool for list building as well!
And no, you do not have to create them yourself, you can, and most likely you will, but they can be ghost written.
Facebook group page.
Facebook group pages can not only help to speed up the building of your authority around your niche but, as far as I am concerned, and what I have seen, a Facebook group page can truly be a fast way to build brand awareness.
Facebook groups are a great way to build awareness in the fact that people are constantly here and sharing what matters to them with others. That could be you, your message, your group, and your products, services or, opportunity!
Running a Facebook group is simple, and as long as you are willing to engage with others daily, this is a really fast way to grow your brand awareness today.
But, even faster is YouTube. The second largest search engine on the planet, and next to Facebook, the other place people spend most of their time online today.
YouTube has literally been the cause and effect of growing brand awareness and lasting brands for years now, even my own niche here has gone crazy and viral because of it.
Besides being a great platform, the power behind embedded videos within your blog and web pages is also a great way to personalize your brand when people come here directly from other platforms like that Facebook group, page, or search engine.
I have to tell you, honestly, if you are not using video within your content marketing efforts and brand strategy, well, you are missing out on a huge amount of potential traffic, strike that, not potential traffic, you are missing out period!
The only alternative to a video if you hate being on camera is…
I have a podcast on my site for teaching people niche blogging. I love it, and it is growing a little faster than I expected.
Podcasting can be, almost at least, as good as video, almost…
Platforms like SoundCloud, iTunes, PodBean and so on can be great and affordable venues for podcasting and building your brand awareness through this unique and powerful platform.
Build your brand awareness, today!
While these are some pretty effective tips above for building your brand awareness online, some can take time just like anything else here. There are no real quick solutions here.
Some are faster than others, yes, but either way, you and I are dealing with people, and people are people.
Get out here and start building that awareness for your brand and business today using one or two of the platforms and practices above, and watch what happens!
